Week 3
Hello! My beloved family and friends! I hope your week has been
wonderful! Can you believe it´s October tomorrow?! Where did the time
fly? There is this boy in my district (group) that wore a Christmas
tie yesteryday! That played music!! It was hilarious. This week has
been full of awesone uplifting experiences! Last Wednesday after
emailing, The sisters in my district and My companion went out again
to explore! We went to go buy stampss and run some errands! We went to
the post office and i guess they don´t sell them individually you have
to bring the item you are sending or in my case letter:( We then went
to a bakery! So in the CTM i feel like i understand a good amount of
portuguese, then i get put in situations like this and im like uhh..
People here in Brazil speak like 90mph. It is crazy! But they see our
name tags and speak very slowely.. They are so nice! We also had this
awesome sister that had just arrived that day from Washington. She is
half brazilian and half american! She´s fluent in Portuguese, english
and spanish! She did a lot of translating for us! The rest of the day
we just looked around and eat dinner at the CTM Pizza every Wednesday!
Tender mercy! Ha. Classes the rest of the day! Thursday: It was a
normal day of 630 wake up call, breakfast and everyday we get a 45
minute exercise time (except sundays and wednesdays) We are only
allowed to play volleyball. WE CANNOT PLAY SOCCER.. PERIOD. I asked
around why and they said that Brazilians just go crazy with soccer.
They used to have soccer tournaments against stakes until someone died
becasue they got kicked in the head... I heard that all Brazilian
missions aren´t allowed to play any soccer. So thats good right?
Later that day we also tought one of out investigators `´Jennifer´´!
She´s so amazing. She has questions about the priesthood, so we are
teaching her and preparing her for baptism! FRIDAY! We taught my
favorite person Luciano. He´s also an instructor. He´s very difficult
because he doesn´t open up to us. He doenst really loves us. My
companion and I are trying to figuere out how we can get him to open
up to us and especially feel the love of that God has for him. here in
the CTM we are encouraged to TEACH PEOPLE NOT LESSONS. Which is
amazing! They also encourage us to invite to baptism the first lesson.
I was suprise how alot of my district go really like Thats too soon,
or etc.. But Its important that we invite people to come unto Christ
and be baptized by someone holding the authority of God and follow
him! So our job is to invite people to FOLLOW HIM. SATURDAY.. It
rained a TON! I thought we had loud thunderstorms in Kansas.. NO WAY.
It was a great day full of Portuguese and teaching. My brain is
definitely fried at the end of the day.. Portuguese,English and
Spanish. AH! But It is soo good! We also taught and amazing lesson
with Jennifer! I saw the gift of tongues work with my companion as she
opened her mouth and was filled with portuguese! and the spirit of
truth! Jennifer in still on date for baptism! WOO! SUNDAYS ARE MY
FAVORITE.. We had stake conference! Some stake leaders came to speak
to us! We got to sing a musical number! It was amazing! Then that
night the mission presidents from the Sao Paulo North mission came to
talk to us! They are soo young! They are like early 50´s and are from
bountiful! I loved them!! Monday! we had the opportunity to watche
Richard G scotts funeral! In portuguese! It was amazing! I can´t wait
to see what happens with General Conference this weekend! It´s going
to be soo good! I love this gospel! Seeing temple square was kind of
awee I miss Utah.. I miss america! BUT I LOVE BRAZIL. Tuesday We had
the opportunity to teach three lessons! One of them was recorded so we
can watch it later. We also saw a devotional that richard G Scott gave
to the missionaries a year ago in the provo MTC. We had a district
meeting and it was interesting! I love my district! They are
definitely strengthning my faith! This week has been incredible! I
can´t don´t have words t describe! I feel heavenly fathers hand in
EVERY SECOND OF MY LIFE. Every sencond. I have no doubt he is my
father! He is your father! he loves you and you are made in his image!
I´m beginning to understand that I´m so incapeable of doing this on my
own..Everyday i remember Christ..that HE did this..He was the BEST
MISSIOANRY IN THE WORLD. Being here is hard, but I know he know why
I´m here! The atonement is REAL!(: I invite everyone to watch
Conference this weeekend! It´s on LDS.ORG!(: Christ lives! This is HIS
work and HIS CHURCH.. I´m so IMPERFECT, but it is through his
atonement that I can bring people in Brazil to him! This friday we get
to go out and procilite with our instructors! we each have to give out
3 book of mormons! PRay for me and my companion Sister Brown! I LOVE
YOU ALL! MUITO AMOR Sister Trejo

Week 2 MTC
Hello everyone!!! I love you all! Thank you so much for the prayers and the emails! I wish i had time to reply to every single one of them! Because I love them all! I feel your love!
I thought I would give a little of my weeks update! Starting with last Wednesday! (PS. Here in Brazil they do not use Monday tuesday wednesday.. They us Seguna Feira, Tercer Feira..etc They use Sabado, Domingo for the weekends. The rest of the days are 123456)
Wednesdays: PDAY! We wake up at 540 and eat breakfast and head to the temple! We got to the Sao Paulo Temple! Its about a 30 minute drive! Its beautiful and I love it! The endowment session is in Portuguese but if we have enough people that speak english the whole session is in english. So for today and last Wednesday we have had it in English. Im excited to when we can do it in Portuguese. After the temple we come back and eat lunch, email and then we can GO OUTSIDE AND EXPLORE. The permeters are measured so we are only allowed to go 3 block out and we cant go any further. It reminds me a lot of mexico, minus the Spanish! Last wednesday we went to a cookie shop and just looked around. They have a mini sketchy Deseret Brazil thats the size of like.... a.. its just super small. We then have until 5 to eat dinner and prepare to teach our Intvestigators which are members, but yes! Lights out at 1030!
Thurday: Everyday we get up at 630, eat breakfast, Study portuguese. Eat lunch, study portuguese, Have dinner, Study portuguese. Portuguese is coming good! I dont know if I told you but In my room I sleep with 2 Brazilians and my companion! The brazilians are only here for TWO WEEKS! Its really sad because I LOVE THE BRAZILIANS! Its truly amazing how TRUE THE GOSPEL IS. There are saints here, spreading the gospel as much as anybody in the world(; Theyre names are sister Braz from Brazil and Sister Ayala from Paraguay.
FrIday: The same schedule.. We study portuguese and PMG in portuguese! I feel like i definitely understand more that I speak. My roomates HELP ALOT. Ive come to find out its really hard to write portuguese because of my spanish. Its super discouraging because i feel like as well as Me and my whole district we just want to be FLUENT already. but PATIENCE is playing a big big part!
Satuday: We STUDY BREATH EAT PORTUGUESE.
SUNDAYS: ARE MY FAVORITE!!!! WE have church in portuguese, relief Society in English and sunday school is always given by the CTM President Swensen. HE IS AMAZINGH and IS CALLED BY GOD. We always have devotionals at night and we sing. ALL the songs we have sung have been amazing. I feel the spirit and I know my purpose.
WE also had a district testimony meeting because WE NEED IT. The sisters are definitely more mature than the elders, but Hey.. Thats whats the mission is for. For them to GROW and learn how to be adults.
Monday: Same routine! I loe Portuguese. I love the way that The Prophet of God said I was going to learn portuguese SO I AM GOING TO LEARN PORTUGUESE. I feel like im retaining more and more.We SAID GOODBYE TO OUR BRAZILIAN ROOMATES! They are off to their mission. It was reallly hard not to cry and I didnt! Because I know That they are doing a great work!!!
Tuesday: I LOVE MY INTRUSTUCTORS. They are amazing! I LEARN A TON of Portuguese. They said that We know more portugues here being here 2 weeks than a 4 week missionary in the Provo MTC. WE have devotinals on tuesday as well! and I LOVE THEM! WE talked about how ``we cant be deciples of Christ without wanting to walk where he walked, or did what he did, WE MUST NOT LOOK BACK.. OR QUIT´` I love that.
Wednesday! WE went to the temple this morning! It was ofcourse amazing! We went to Sao Paulo. now emailing and we are going to go out into Sao Paulo in a couple of minutes!
I just want to bare my testimony that this IS CHRIST WORK and HIS CHURCH here on earth! I know by the power of the holy ghost that he LIVES. Jospeh Smith was A Prophet and the Atonement is real! Eu nao Faulo muito bom portuguese, mas sei que ele Meu possou ajudar! I invite you all to pray to feel his love and his WILL for you personally. I know God is our father and he does care and listen to us!
Muito Amor,

WEEK 1 MTC
WOW! THE MTC.I LOVE IT. or in Brazil the CTM! I feel like i´m being humbled to my KNEES! WOWOWOWWOWOWO! I MEAN I LOVE THE MTC! So first of all just adjusting to EVERYTHING..Everything is different, but a good different! The food
is GOOD, it´s what i wast expecting so thats good! We have rice and beans everyday. We have fruit which consist of pineapple, and apples and mangos! Which i love. We have meat everyday. Lunch is definitely the biggest part of the meal! seriously though I love
the MTC Ive learned soo much these last short days that ive been here! There are about 4 girls in my room which i love! One being my companion sister Brown! The other companion from paraguay ended up getting a companion so we are not in a trio anymore which is good! because it was hard translating, but i love them.Portuguese to be humble is coming along good! I mean im not fluent, but i can understand everything they are saying. Even if i speak slurr spanish they still understand! I feel like im going to have more of a
challenge spelling it than speaking it! SOO my distric is AWESOME! theyre all from different parts of the US.. Minessota, colorado, ohio and texas..(: all our elders are 18 which is SUPER weird. Bu they are all GREAT PEOPLE and i just love my disctric. Something that i find is
hard is that we are ALL on DIFFERENT levels of maturity and portuguese. I have two other sisters in my district and they are all 19. I´m the only spanish speaker which is hard because I understnad more than the class and i feel bad when im the only one anwering all
the questions in class and everyone is just like uhhh... I feel like we ALL WANT TO KNOW PORTUGUESE like NOW.. but we forgot that we have only been here ONE WEEK and we are human. My favorite part is that I have the spirit with me at ALL TIMES! Its the best! We also get to go to the Sao Paulo temple EVERY WEEK! We went today and the session usually is in portuguese, but because there was soo many natives it was in english.. It was awesome! I still dont feel like im in Brazil.. Its super super awesome, but i cant believe im not in kansas and i cant believe im a missionary! AH! I love it! Everyone jokes that We are not in Kansas anymore.. or dorthy haha I think its been a tough week for my companion.. shes 19..she went to byu for a year and was born in topeka only born. But any who.. I think shes a little homesick and culture shock and the language is hard for her becuase.. The mission president put it this way.. PORTUGUESE IS NOT EASY..Its GOING TO BE HARD..One of my favorite things he said is that
we were called by a PROPHET OF GOD and he said you WILL LEARN PORTUGUESE.. so you i know what that means.. YOU WILL LEARN PORTUGUESE.. AHH.. it was powerful! I love it! Ive just been learning that Jesus Christ is there the atonement can help us. When i miss
home or miss something i just try not to think about it and focuse on portuguese!

Arrival Email
BRAZIL! Im here! I cant believe it. its still a little shocked.. it so unreal that im a MISSIONARY..especially in BRAZIL. Im so happy to be here though! I love it soo much!
Im so happy that i had some long flights because i had the opportunity to share the gospel A TON. It was awesome! I met a lady in the airport her name was Ann she was from North Carolina.. I loved her. She said her grandparents grew up in Provo so she knew a lot about the church. We had breakfast in the Dallas airport and I invited her to watch the Because he lives video. She was a good christian women and I love her! I had a 5 hour layover in Dallas and so it was interesting. I was so exhausted form the last three night of straight packing. Thank you Marisabel, Brieanna, Sister Anderson.. I owe you a big one. From Dallas I flew to ATLANTA.. I sat with the sweetest 13 year old her name was Sinai.. She was sweet. She told me she was coming home from her aunts funeral. I told her that I knew shw as going to see her grandma again and shared with her the because he lives card. Her mom wsas sitting behind us and I was a little nervous because I was scared that she would be like what are you teaching my daughter.. haha but she was nice.. the mom´s name was Lisa. After that flight (which I mostly slept) Lisa and her daughter Sinai helped me find my gate to my flight to Sao Paulo. We went everywhere in that airport. THEY WERE SO KIND. I can´t believe how awesome they were to show me around. I got to my flight 2 hours early so I ate Panda Express for my last time and sat next to this lady mid 30´s. She told me she was a military wife, so she´s lived in a lot of places. We just had a good conversation about life and work. While she was leaving I gave her a card as well. I went towards my gate after and found six other missionaries heading to the MTC with me! I was soo happy to see them and to see that i wan´t going to be alone! Time went by and when it was time to board theyre was like 25 of us. SOO COOL!
We flew in a big big airplane..like BIG.. Maybe int was big beacuse im from Kansas...? We had NINE HOUR FLIGHT.. It was tough but good!!
Before we ran out of time I´m in a TRIO my companions names are Sister Brown and Sister Ayala! Sister Brown, She´s originally from Castle Rock Colorado! She´s super KIND and i love her! My other companion is from PARAGUAY.. she speaks spanish and Portuguese and another language. She´s super cute(:
So.. I´m just taking it all in and trying to soak it all in. I´m using the atonement a lot already! I feel like i´m definitely feeling out of my comfort zone.. I´m getting a littgle jumbled on my spanish english and portuguese. with my companions only one speaks english only and then the other one form paraguay speaks spanish.. so i´m in a trio trying to translate and its crazy but i love it!
the church is true! God loves us! and the atonement is working in my life already! I dont know when my pday is.. but i´ll talk to you soon!
love love love
